Richard Money is a senior project manager at Southern Water, with over 30 years’ experience in managing multi-million-pound projects of varying complexity.
Richard applied for chartered accreditation, providing personal and external recognition of his capability and adherence to professional practice.
Richard chose Provek’s specialist support providing invaluable coaching and mentoring throughout the written application and interview.
Why did you choose Provek’s chartered specialist support?
The approach, tailored to my needs, by my assigned coach was just what I needed to achieve my best, and keep me driving towards the various deadlines.
The personal one-to-one feedback throughout the process helped me with both my written application and all-important interview.
What aspects were particularly useful in the coaching that Provek provided?
Tony (my coach) was a very positive driving force, positive energy and just what I needed to keep me on track with my deadlines.
We all lead busy lives, and this is not easy to fit in with work and personal commitments. Tony helped me to ensure I got through the process and stayed focused on the end goal.
The touch points every few weeks were vital to keep me going. You could see Tony was personally interested in my success.
The coaching for the practice interview was extremely worthwhile, given that success at the interview is what counts, regardless of how good the written submission may be. The bespoke feedback helped me be as prepared as possible for the real thing.
How did the interview preparation help?
Practicing the interview and gaining guidance from an experienced ChPP coach was invaluable.
Knowing what is going to be in the mind of the interviewers, the format, the quick fired pace and understanding that the interviewers have 24 questions to ask on specific mandatory competence criteria, gave me opportunity to practice focusing in on the most succinct and powerful way to respond within the time limit.
The time constraint on answering each question certainly focuses the mind on how best to pitch responses to properly evidence each competence criteria.
There is no substitute for practicing the interview under representative conditions and it made no sense to go through the interview without any preparation when your ChPP pass or fail critically depend on success at the interview.
