Throughout this certificate, AI is treated as a project team contributor, not a project practitioner. AI can support project delivery, decision-making and organisational learning, but accountability, professional judgement and decision ownership remain human responsibilities.

The course is not about any particular AI tool. It is about designing, governing and improving the way people and AI work together on a project, so that outcomes, decisions and delivery get better.

There are no pre-requisites for this course. It provides the opportunity to earn a professional qualification focused on the application of AI in the project team environment.

Who should attend:

The APM Certificate in Working with AI in Project Teams is aimed at project professionals in a range of project, programme, portfolio, PMO, sponsorship and delivery roles to work effectively with AI as a project team contributor.

The course is designed for those with project experience or PMQ-level knowledge.

It focuses on assigning appropriate work to AI, assessing data readiness, applying AI across project activities, evaluating outputs, maintaining human accountability and realising benefits responsibly.

It is recommended that delegates complete the ‘AI Awareness for Project Professionals’ before undertaking this course.

Duration:

This is a one day course.

In-house courses can be delivered virtually if required.

Timings:

9am – 4:30pm.

For in-house courses start and finish times can be adjusted according to needs.

Examination:

The online exam is completed on the surpass platform.

Format: Multiple choice
Duration: 45 minutes
Questions: 20
Passing Score: 15/20 (75%)

Venues:

Public courses are delivered virtually.

Inhouse courses can be delivered face-to-face at the client selected venue or virtually.

Course style:

The course is participative in nature consisting of presentation sessions, discussions, group exercises and examples.

Pre-requisites:

It is recommended that delegates complete the ‘AI Awareness for Project Professionals’ before undertaking this course.

Delegates will need access to an AI tool (e.g. CoPilot, Gemini, Claude, ChatGPT) to take part in the exercises throughout the day.

No pre-course study required.
