Building Better Business Cases

Course overview

A vital part of the management decision process as to where to invest an organisation's resources and finances.

It involves an assessment of the viability and justification of a project or initiative through the consideration of the associated benefits, costs, risks and opportunities amongst other factors.

Once approved, the business case is then followed by more detailed planning and project delivery. The project deliverables, once handed over, are then used to realise the benefits as first defined in the business case.

This course is designed to introduce delegates to the subject of the project business case. This course provides an overview of the development of a business case and an understanding of the various key constituents within a typical business case.

This course is participative in nature, utilising plenary presentation sessions, group discussions, individual and group exercises and examples. Emphasis will be on transferring the leaning back into the workplace. This course can be tailored to suit specific organisational needs.


Some hands-on experience and involvement with projects or programmes is required.
