The requirements
Building on the success of delivering Provek’s 5-day PMQ short courses, Yorkshire Water wanted to progress to a structured professional development programme that developed both knowledge and experience.
Having worked with Provek for a number of years and enjoying high pass rates, they chose Provek to deliver the Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship.
Key to their requirements, was working with a training provider that they could trust to deliver quality training, support their learners diligently over a 13-month period and achieve high pass rates with a quality assured approach.
The solution
Provek’s Level 4 Associate Project Manager apprenticeship is a 13-month professional development programme that involves workshops, small study groups, personal coaching and guided self study.
Yorkshire Water initially delivered a closed programme, providing the opportunity to work with Provek to tailor the programme, involving internal subject matters experts to present on core topics from a Yorkshire Water perspective, adding further relevance through sharing their own experiences and lessons learned.
Following continued ongoing demand, Yorkshire Water now use Provek’s public programme, enrolling individuals as needed on a rolling monthly basis.
The results
Learners are required to apply the new knowledge learned within the workplace and provide evidence of this through written learning assignments. This approach signficantly helps to embed the learning, resulting in a positive impact on developing knowledge and experience, as well as competence and confidence.
This practical application has provided experience building, whilst at the same time providing the learner with coaching and support from their tutor and line manager.
The application of skills is reviewed by the tutor and line manager to ensure key learning is captured and any room for further growth is identified and supported both in their learning and workplace environment.
