Course overview

Provek’s self-study programme is designed to support you through the PRINCE2® Foundation and Practitioner (6th Edition) exams with a minimum of tutor-led virtual classroom contact time.

This is achieved using a combination of directed self-study including engaging structured modular videos accessed via The PM Channel, web based practice exams, Provek remote tutor support (telephone and email) and a two-day tutor-led virtual classroom workshop. The online exams are taken at a convenient time to the participant.

This approach supports home working and provides you with a greater degree of flexibility in the way you study and than that of a standard five day classroom based event.

Course specification

Who should attend:

Project staff wishing to demonstrate a recognised level of competence in project management or who are required to play a role in a project conducted in accordance with the PRINCE2® method.

Duration:

Approximately 30 hours of self study plus a two-day tutor-led virtual classroom workshop.

Timings:

Day one: 9 a.m. to 5.15 p.m.

Day two: 9 a.m to 4 p.m.

Examination:

Includes two exams, Foundation: one-hour multiple choice examination. The two and a half-hour Practitioner examination consists of 68 objective reasoning questions (a type of multi-choice). Both exams are taken after training, booked at a convenient time for the participant.

Venues:

The virtual classroom training is delivered using Zoom interactive video conferencing which allows you to learn using a powerful combination of video, virtual whiteboards and breakout rooms for small-group exercises. It simulates very closely a classroom learning environment but with the advantage of geographic flexibility and zero travel costs.

Access to Zoom is provided by Provek, participants do not need to purchase Zoom.

Course style:

This two-day, tutor-led, virtual workshop is interactive with opportunities for discussion and assists the delegate in preparing for the examinations. A number of weeks prior to the workshop, delegates will be provided with Provek’s self-study pack including an AXELOS PRINCE2® 2017 PDF manual, along with access via the internet to structured videos on the PM Channel, and exam online readiness tools for both Foundation and Practitioner exams. During the self-study period, remote tutor support will also be available from a Provek PRINCE2® expert consultant.

Pre-requisites:

Ideally a minimum of one to two years experience in a project environment as a senior manager, project manager, project/team leader or end-user.
