How the assessment for recruitment service works

Our service comprises the provision of our online PMA6 assessment tool and Scored CV assessment to your recruitment candidates in order to understand their experience, knowledge and ability and rate them against both industry standards and other candidates applying for the same role.

The standard service

For the standard service a secure customer branded web page is created, which is used as part of your organisations interview process.  Your candidates will be directed to this web page and asked to complete two assessments, which take about an hour each to complete.

  • PMA6 online assessment  - which comprises 5 sections of questions - Your Details, Your Experience, Your Knowledge of Project Management, Your Ability to Apply your Knowledge and Experience, Your Personality
  • Scored CV assessment - which captures information about your candidates past project roles, quantitative and qualitative detailed information of three recent projects and views on their key skills and attributes

In addition, candidates will be asked to provide our consultants with an electronic copy of their CV.  This is used in conjunction with the job specification for the role in order for our consultants to write the native CV’s summary report.

The reports

Once the assessments are completed the following reports are compiled;

  • PMA6 Reports: Candidates personal five page PMA6 reports. These comprise scores for self-assessed experience, tested knowledge, tested decision making ability and self assessment personality indicators. In addition these reports also have a link to a personalised 13 minute video interpretation of the candidates pattern of results.
  • Scored CV Reports: Candidates personal consultant marked Scored CV report. These comprise four sections: personal details, career history, specific details of three recent projects (including free form statement of objectives and achievements) and a self appraisal of the participant’s skills and development priorities.  These are given an overall grade which awarded against a 7 point scale of A to D including midway grades e.g. C/D.
  • Native CV Summaries Report: This report comprise a single paragraph summary of each candidates skills and experience taken from their native CV’s and compared with the Job Description of the role which is being recruited for.
  • Management Summary Report: Once the candidates complete the assessments a management report is compiled which provides a summary of all candidates scores and highlights candidates using a Red, Amber, Green code to reflect those candidates which meet your companies criteria in terms of standards for recruitment.

    An overall grade is awarded to candidates which is benchmarked against the International Project Management Association (IPMA) scale.  These grades are awarded against a 7 point scale of A to D including midway grades e.g. C/D, which is based on the IPMA defined four levels of project staff namely;

    • A – projects director,
    • B - senior project manager,
    • C - project manager,
    • D - project management associate
